This Sunday is Meatfare and the following week is Cheesefare. Meatfare Sunday is the second Sunday before Great Lent. It is called Meatfare because it is the last day to eat meat before Lent. This Sunday is also called Judgment Sunday/Sunday of the Last Judgment. The gospel reading (Matthew 25:31-46) is Jesus describing our final judgment day. Following the topic of judgment is forgiveness.
